Where there was a root canal and crown, the crown had to be drilled through to do a real root canal, because the previous dentist had not done any. That crown came off, and the tiny bit of tooth under it had some post in it, which just came out. Now that tooth is barely past the gum (left upper incisor) and the right upper incisor broke off, has not much more of it either. The tooth behind that one is just as bad, and the four front teeth, 3 have broken fillings and are in bad shape. Lower teeth, back right molar with old silver/mercury filling has not much tooth left around it, and on the back left lower molar (2nd one behind incisor) either has a cavity at the gumline with nerve exposed or receded gums because it's now painful. There's about 4 that I believe need root canals, but I'm not sure if it would be better to get that done, and crowns, then implants to replace back teeth that have been extracted, or to just get dentures. This would not happen for close to another year, but sooner if I can financially do it. They're really a mess and it is very embarrassing. It's from not so good experiences with a couple of prior dentists, only I don't even want to go to another one because this looks so bad. Need a dentist that will take care of the dental work, that's virtually painless, and please, not critical. Also, that the dentist does the numbing injections, I do not like the hygienist or dental technician to do the shot(s), the dentist is the person I want to work on the teeth, start to finish.
