Case Description
Hi, I'm Neko and I haven't been to the dentist in roughly 10 years. I only went once and it was a pretty terrible experience. The dentist made me feel terrible and was very rude and rough, and put me off from ever going again. Now, my social anxiety has gotten worse to the point where I've put off going to the dentist until my teeth have gotten terrible. I have a lot of cavities and I'm scared that they've gotten so bad I might have to replace some teeth or something. What I really want to know if there are places that do conscious sedation or would even put me to sleep while doing something simple like fillings?

It is unfortunate that you had a terrible experience in the past, but don''''t let that stop you from getting the care you need. There are dentist who do sedation dentistry for simple restorations you may just need to check around. While we do like for our patients to be comfortable as possible, we are not equiped for sedation dentistry. For our patients of record with dental anxiety, Dr. Neely may prescribe a mild sedative and offer nitrous during the procedure. We usually reffer our patients with high anxiety to Dr. Thomas McGarry.
